Sandra has been involved in the horse world for over 28 years. She graduated from
Lake Erie College with a B. S. in Equine Studies: Teacher/Trainer and Facilities Management. Sandra has competed in dressage shows through First Level,
United States Eventing Association recognized Combined Tests and Horse Trials through Training Level, Hunter/Jumper Shows, Hunter Paces and Hunter Trials. She has been a Fox Hunt Club member since 1984 and a staff member, "Whipper-In" since 1994.
Sandra's background in the equine industry includes the management of full care boarding facilities and a steeplechase barn. She has also assisted with breeding and foaling. Her continual guidance to her students is very rewarding to her, as she watches their dreams come true as horses become part of their everyday lives.
As a youth, Sandra was involved in Pony Club and a member until leaving for college. She was fortunate to train under Nancy Guyotte, member of the United States Equestrian Team. Nancy has competed in numerous international competitions and some of her most accomplished students are competing at the Advanced Level of eventing. She is one of the highest ranked USEA certified instructors. David and Karen O'Connor are the only others that have earned that credidation. Nancy trains out of her indoor riding facility in New Hampshire and travels to other farms to give clinics. While in college, Sandra had the opportunity to train with
Kathy Henry, accomplished Advanced Level eventer and Grand Prix dressage competitor. For the past 25 years, Kathy has ridden and trained horses. She has earned her USDF Bronze and Silver medals and is currently working on her Gold medal. Kathy trains out of her indoor riding facility in Ohio and travels to various other states for clinics. Kathy's generosity of her home bred Warmbloods enabled Sandra to gain the mileage and invaluable experience that she implements in her everyday interactions with the equine and their mounts. In addition, Sandra's experience in the field of horses stems from multiple working student opportunities throughout the country and gaining knowledge from many different horse farms and businesses.
Sandra is currently a member of
New England Dressage Association and
United States Dressage Federation.
